Courses Detail

Level 1 Award In Health And Safety In A Construction Environment (QCF)

Courses Overview

Since July 2014, labourers need to complete a new training qualification and pass the health, safety and environment test to gain a CSCS green card.

Who is this qualification for ?

This qualification is aimed at learners who currently work, or want to work, in construction environment that needs a CSCS Labourers Green card.

Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and the British Safety Council will not restrict access on the grounds of prior academic attainment, age, employment, geographic location or any other grounds.
Successful completion of this qualification will enable learners to apply for the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Green Card* which allows access to construction sites in the UK as a non-skilled worker.
Note learners will also need to pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test to achieve the Green card.

Workers should also be aware green cards are no longer acceptable on certain sites for skilled work. So if you’re a site carpenter, your card needs to be a blue skilled workers’ card that states you have an NVQ in site carpentry; otherwise, you could be denied access to site for that type of work.
